A new update for Gran Turismo 7, version 1.18 has fixed a number of small issues, but also removed the Roulette Ticket exploit that handed out infinite engine swaps.

When Gran Turismo 7‘s June update (1.17) added Watkins Glen, three new cars and Extra Café Menus, it also brought upon an exploit where players could receive an unlimited supply of engines.

It is possible to unlock engines via the game’s Roulette Ticket system, but only on higher star tickets and very rarely. These high-power engines can then be added to humdrum cars. For example, the 24 Hours of Le Mans-winning Mazda 787B’s rotary masterpiece could be won via a ticket – earned via Daily Workouts or Cafe completion – and then transplanted into a RX-7.

Upon completion of the new ‘Collection: Rotary Engine’ Book, you were gifted an engine-specific Roulette Ticket. Once the history lesson about the rotary engine began, if you quit the game, restarted and went back to the same Book, you would trigger the roulette gifting process again. Thus infinite engines.

This would also work for the four-star ticket in the Toyota 86 Menu Book.

Today’s (6th June 2022) 1.18 game update prevents this from happening. So, if you were on the look out for a special or rare engine, actually playing the game each day is now the only path.

There are a host of additional small tweaks, such as an update to Logitech G923 steering wheel inputs, save data access when spread across multiplate consoles, gear ratio settings tweaks and a bevy of brake caliper colour errors now being zapped.

As if the pattern for Gran Turismo 7, there is a major content-adding update towards the end of each month, followed by updates throughout the month with various fixes and stability changes.

While the online lobbies now have the ability to change settings – at last – the next step in our opinion is to work on the stability of rival cars when online. Sort that and the popular racing title – still selling very well – will be in a very positive place at last.

1. Car Settings - Fixed an issue wherein after changing to a specific gear ratio, the adjustable range and set value of the gear ratio would change each time the settings were opened.

2. Music Replay - Fixed an issue wherein the game would crash if the Honda Sports VGT was the camera target in Music Replay.

3. GT Auto - Fixed an issue wherein the colour of the brake calipers could not be changed if body paint was applied to a car equipped with the following tuning parts in the [Livery Editor]: ・ Racing Brake Kit (Slotted Discs) ・ Racing Brake Kit (Drilled Discs) ・ Carbon Ceramic Brake Kit

 - Fixed an issue wherein the colour of the brake calipers would change when body paint was applied to the following cars in the [Livery Editor]: ・ Alpine Vision Gran Turismo ・ Aston Martin DP-100 Vision Gran Turismo ・ Lambo V12 Vision Gran Turismo ・ Mini Clubman Vision Gran Turismo ・ Porsche 917 LIVING LEGEND ・ Dodge SRT Tomahawk S Vision Gran Turismo

4. Save Data - Fixed an issue wherein the save data would not load correctly from the server if playing on a console with no ‘Gran Turismo 7’ save data stored on it, or if multiple consoles were used.

5. Steering Controllers - Fixed an issue wherein the steering angle would not reflect the player’s inputs on some cars when using the Logitech G923.

6. Café - Fixed an issue wherein it was possible to receive multiple Tickets repeatedly from Extra Menus.

7. Circuit Experience - Fixed an issue wherein the label above a car would not display correctly in a Circuit Experience replay.

8. Race - Fixed an issue wherein the race would start with the Replay Camera when starting an offline race after spectating in a Lobby.

9. Others - Various other issues have been addressed.
